Be on the Blue
Last Saturday our blue Green was covered in a further splash of blue as Portland Memorial conducted their first Beyond Blue event. The event was a great success and the tournament is now to become a yearly feature on the bowling calendar.
Congratulations to our Beyond Blue Mental Health Bowls Tournament winners! In first place were Trevor Cosgrove, Ronny Robinson & Ian Merrett who put on a masterly display of bowls on the day, whilst the Runner-Up position was taken out by Robyn McCabe, Chris Elford & Wendy Gray. Third placing was taken out by Tony Hogan, Graham McCabe & Ian Benbow.

Together, we showed that bowls is more than just a game—it's about connection, inclusion and supporting our community. Every conversation and every contribution helps make a difference.
Well done to our champions and thank you to everyone who helped make the day such a success.
This week has also seen our first School Holiday Program on offer. It was great to see both Primary and Secondary school students involved. The participants undertook a variety of drills, applied these in some fun game scenarios and partook in a game of Scroungers which is a modified fast moving game situation. Thankyou to all participants and the parents for enabling the program and a special thanks to the volunteers, staff & kitchen for your great assistance on both days.
